Dr Sidorov is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist. He is experienced in the preparation of reports for Courts and Tribunals and in the provision of oral evidence. He undertakes forensic assessments at MedicoLegal Psychiatry, and several other companies in the Sydney CBD, including but not limited to psychiatric assessments for criminal and civil matters, such as personal injury, institutional abuse, medical negligence, fitness for work and license requirements.
Dr Sidorov has worked as a Visiting Medical Officer in Psychiatry (VMO) within the mid-North Coast Local Health District and as a VMO Forensic Psychiatrist in ACT Forensic Mental Health Service. He has also worked within Justice Health as a Staff Specialist and is currently a Visiting Medical Officer in Psychiatry with Justice Health, NSW. His role includes working with inmates at the Metropolitan Reception and Remand Centre, Silverwater. He has previously been responsible for the management of mentally ill patients at the Forensic Hospital in Malabar. He has provided clinical services to patients in Medium Secure Units and NSW Community Court Liaison Service in both a clinical and forensic capacity. He was also a study psychiatrist involved with ReInvest clinical trial, trialling antidepressant medication in violent offenders.
Dr Sidorov is a WorkCover Independent Medical Examiner (IME) and an Assessor of Permanent Impairment. He is a Motor Accident Authority Assessor of Permanent Impairment and Medical Assessor with the Dispute Resolution Service for the State Insurance Regulation Authority (SIRA). He is a Medical Review Panel Assessor for the Motor Accident Authority with the State Insurance Regulation Authority (SIRA).
He completed a Bachelor of Medical Science with Majors in Pharmacology and Biochemistry, a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at The University of Sydney. He completed his Masters of Psychiatry at the NSW Institute of Psychiatry and his Graduate Certificate in Forensic Mental Health at the University of New South Wales. He undertook his internship and residency at both Manly and Mona Vale Hospitals in Sydney.
His psychiatry training was undertaken at Redbank House in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Westmead Hospital and Addiction and Geriatric Psychiatry at Royal North Shore Hospital. He undertook training in Forensic Psychiatry at Justice Health in New South Wales. He has previously worked in the Austinmer Unit of the Forensic Hospital, The Bunya Forensic Unit based at Cumberland Hospital and Long Bay Hospital.
Dr Sidorov is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and is Certified in Advanced Training in Forensic Psychiatry.
